Oakland Chinese Church

History: Started as an evangelical Bible study fellowship in 1985 by four lay couples, it has grown into an independent and evangelical church in 1991.

Location: In 2004 we built a 25,000 sq ft new church building on a 24-acre parcel of land on the West side of Squirrel Road between Dutton and Tienken Rd, and started Sunday services since February, 2004.

Leadership: Pastor, Elders, Deacons and English youth pastor.

Demographics

  • Chinese congregation: has around 180 members, consisting mostly of first generation Chinese immigrants from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, that are young or middle aged professionals (80%), graduate students (10%) and senior citizens (10%).
  • English congregation: has around 80 members, consisting mostly of Chinese American youth (85%), college & young adults (15%). About one-third of the youth come from non-Christian families. 
  • Children's group: has around  80 children.

    • Sunday School: 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
    • Sunday Worship: 10:45 AM - 12:00 PM
    • Friday Saturday fellowship/small group Bible Study: 7 - 9 PM  
    • Tuesday Bible Study: 9:30 -11:30 AM  
    • Wednesday Prayer meeting: 7:30-8:30 PM  
    • Occasional special  prayer meetings for missions and for evangelical meetings.
  • English Services - Adults and Youth 
    • Sunday Worship: 10:45 AM - 12:00 PM
    • Friday Saturday Fellowship and/or Bible Study: 7 - 9 PM

  • Fellowship Groups: 5 groups, meet twice every month.
  • Family Groups: 10 groups, meet twice every month.
Evangelical Outreach Programs
  • Morning Star Fellowship for students and young professionals: meet twice every month
  • All Fellowship Groups welcome seekers and Tuesday Bible Study provide programs for Seekers.
Missions Programs
  • Supports local Chinese community by holding special evangelical meetings.
  • Supports 15 Missions Organizations through prayers and offerings
  • Short Term Mission trips to Germany, China, Taiwan, Kyrgyzstan, England.
