Oakland Chinese Church
|
History: Started as an evangelical Bible study fellowship in 1985 by
four lay couples, it has grown into an independent and evangelical church in
1991.
Location: In 2004 we built a 25,000 sq ft new church building on a
24-acre parcel of land on the West side of Squirrel Road between Dutton and
Tienken Rd, and started Sunday services since February, 2004.
Leadership: Pastor, Elders, Deacons and English youth pastor.
Demographics:

Chinese congregation: has around 180 members, consisting mostly of first
generation Chinese immigrants from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, that are
young or middle aged professionals (80%), graduate students (10%) and senior
citizens (10%).

English congregation: has around 80 members, consisting mostly of
Chinese American youth (85%), college & young adults (15%). About one-third
of the youth come from non-Christian families.
